The hardest question in automation is rarely "can we automate this?" It is "of everything we could automate, which should we do first, what is each one worth, and who owns it once it is live?" Most organisations answer that with a list of ideas rather than a prioritised pipeline — and discover months later that the automation worked perfectly on a process nobody had standardised. That gap — between automation ambition and automation that delivers measurable business value — is exactly where Turbotic operates, and it is why we appointed Puneet Walia as Senior Business Consultant.
"Clients know they want to automate more. What they struggle with is finding, sizing and prioritising the right opportunities — and then making it stick operationally. My job is to turn 'we should automate more' into a structured, prioritised pipeline with clear ownership, governance and measurable ROI. I've been on both ends of that: I've run production lines and lived through a transformation project someone else designed, and I've led the automation delivery. That's what tells you the difference between what looks good in a workshop and what survives contact with a real team's daily workflow," says Puneet Walia.
From the production line to the process map
Puneet brings 8.5 years across business transformation, process improvement and automation, most of it in global finance operations. He did not start in consulting. He started in FMCG and beverage manufacturing — running production lines, setting KPIs, doing shop-floor quality and lean work through TPM, Kaizen and 5S, including a greenfield plant project with Tropicana and PepsiCo. He moved from there into transformation consulting at Accenture, leading finance transformation across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash for European clients in manufacturing, energy, automotive and aviation, spanning RPA in UiPath and Automation Anywhere, OCR, and a GenAI solution for accounts payable helpdesk queries across multiple legal entities. That combination — process discipline learned on a factory floor, paired with automation delivery at scale — is precisely what good discovery requires, and precisely what is missing when organisations try to build an automation pipeline on their own.

Why this matters for Turbotic's clients
Turbotic exists to help organisations move from AI and automation experimentation to operational value, and that work begins before anything is built: discovery, process analysis, feasibility, ROI modelling. Puneet leads exactly that. He runs cross-functional discovery workshops, maps how work actually flows across a client's systems and functions, and builds the sized, prioritised opportunity pipeline that follows — along with the operational foundations, templates, SOPs and RACI matrices, that let a pipeline survive after the workshops end. He is also working with our product team on an AI-based tool that helps client organisations identify automation opportunities across their own systems. His method has a consistent shape: pick the highest-impact slice first, fix the process, then automate it. On one engagement in a previous role, automating a three-way match between purchase order, invoice and goods receipt note, he used ABC and Pareto analysis to sequence the work by highest-volume vendors first — improving OCR accuracy, cutting manual rework, and eliminating effort equivalent to roughly 13 full-time roles.
"Puneet has stood next to the process before trying to redesign it. That operational instinct is what keeps a discovery grounded and gives clients a pipeline they can actually execute," says Theodore Bergqvist, CEO and Co-founder of Turbotic.
What working with Puneet looks like
Clients working with Puneet can expect rigour applied early rather than retrofitted — RACI, SOPs and governance built alongside the automation, and regular stakeholder reviews so leadership watches the business case get validated instead of taking it on faith. They can also expect to be told when the process itself is the problem. His most frequent intervention happens upstream of any automation decision: standardising input formats before automating customer account maintenance, cleaning up vendor onboarding before automating the data flow into SAP. As he puts it: "If you automate a messy process, you just get a faster mess." That willingness to fix the boring thing first is what Turbotic looks for in every engagement lead, and it is what helps more of our clients get from an automation wish-list to a pipeline that delivers.
Welcome to Turbotic, Puneet. We are glad to have him on board.
